A home, with your keys in mind
Moving in is a good moment to count the entrances—not just the keys handed over. A front door, side entrance and door from the garage may need separate decisions. If the hardware works but older copies worry you, rekeying the locks may be the question to ask.
Simi Valley’s homes also include separate living spaces. For a house and an ADU, decide which doors should share a key and which should stay separate. The city reported 93 ADUs among its new homes in 2024; the practical point is to plan the handover around the people and entrances involved.
A rough key turn or a bolt that needs the door lifted is a different concern. Explain that behavior before deciding whether you need lock repair, a rekey or replacement hardware. A new key does not solve every door problem.

Back to the everyday drive
Tell us the make, model and year, then whether you have a working key. A spare, an all-keys-lost request and a key locked inside the car are different situations. Car key replacement can involve parts and programming that need checking for the exact vehicle.
Near the Simi Valley Metrolink station on Los Angeles Avenue, add the actual parking position and a safe meeting point. A station name alone won’t identify the car. At home, mention a gate, parking level or other access detail before a visit is arranged.
If you still have a working key, a separate spare can make the next mishap easier to handle. Confirm which functions it will perform, then test those functions before putting it away.
Prepare a vehicle requestGive the street address, entrance or parking position. Check availability for that specific location.
Explain what still works and what changed. Mention a damaged key or door rather than forcing it.
Ask what the estimate includes. Approve a change in parts or work before it proceeds.

One entrance. Two different systems.
A garage door and its opener work together, but a fault in one doesn’t identify a fault in the other. Describe the position of the door, sounds from the motor and which controls still respond. Keep clear of an uneven or visibly damaged door and stop operating it.
Uneven travel, a suspected spring issue or visible cable damage calls for a careful door assessment.

Often, compatible working cylinders can be rekeyed. Condition, keyway and the doors you want on one key need to be checked. Read how rekeying differs from replacing hardware.
The make, model, year, exact location and whether a working key remains. Ask about parts and programming support for your vehicle before arranging the work.
Ask for the expected scope, visit charge and parts or programming included. If inspection changes the work, request an updated estimate before approving it. See what affects a quote.
